Eclipse PRP

For common skin problems such as wrinkles, scars, or rough skin, you may be familiar with laser skin resurfacing, chemical peels, and other common plastic surgery procedures. However, patients desiring a more natural alternative are often left wanting more. Eclipse responded to that need with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, an innovative skin rejuvenation technique that uses a patient's own blood to revitalize the skin of their face, hands, or neck.

The physician takes approximately 10ml of your blood and places the sample into a centrifuge that separates the red blood cells from the valuable plasma serum, rich in platelets. Once this serum is prepared, your doctor may inject it or apply it topically to your problem area. PRP can also be used in conjunction with fat injections or traditional fillers to give more fullness to deep wrinkles.

How PRP Therapy Works

Your blood platelets help your body stop bleeding and promote the healing of damaged blood vessels and cells. Eclipse's patented process yields the highest concentration of biologically active growth factors to activate and rejuvenate your body's cells and to trigger the production of collagen. This gives your skin a fuller, more youthful look. Because you are using your own growth factors, you are stimulating a more natural and long-lasting collagen growth than with traditional hylauronic acid (HA) fillers like Restylan, Juvaderm, and Sculptra.

Who are the Ideal Candidates?

If you're looking for a natural alternative to traditional cosmetic procedures that won't cost you valuable time, PRP therapy may be the procedure you need. Though the results are not as dramatic as a surgical facelift, you will still see fast and dramatic results that last for approximately 18 months. Patients who benefit the most from PRP therapy undergo a series of treatments at regular intervals to maintain the positive effects of the plasma growth factors. PRP therapy can be used to treat a number of common skin problems and can:

  • Add volume to skin
  • Reduce fine lines
  • Improve skin texture
  • Improve the appearance of wrinkles and scars

For a natural way to revitalize your skin and to turn back the hands of time, PRP therapy may be the answer you have been looking for. To schedule your free consultation with Dr. Patrick Schaner, please contact Schaner Plastic Surgery in San Antonio.
